WHAT IS AAU BASKETBALL?

AAU basketball is a competitive form of youth basketball that gives players the opportunity to practice consistently, develop their skills and compete against teams outside of a traditional recreational league.

MBP Basketball offers AAU basketball teams and training in Morris County, New Jersey, serving players and families from Dover, Parsippany, Morristown and surrounding North Jersey communities.

Players are evaluated based on their current skill level, age and readiness for competitive team basketball. Families who are new to MBP can start with a free player evaluation and practice, while players ready for an upcoming season can register for AAU basketball tryouts.

Our goal is not simply to place players on a team. MBP focuses on basketball development, game experience, confidence, teamwork and helping each player continue progressing throughout the season.

AAU BASKETBALL TEAMS FOR YOUTH PLAYERS

MBP AAU basketball teams are organized based on player age, experience, skill level and competitive readiness. Team availability can vary by season, with players evaluated to determine the best fit for their current stage of development.

Whether your player is moving into competitive basketball for the first time or has previous AAU or travel basketball experience, MBP coaches evaluate each athlete individually before team placement.

AAU BASKETBALL
SEASONS, PRACTICES & GAMES

MBP offers competitive basketball opportunities throughout the year, with team availability, practice schedules and game schedules varying by season and age group.

TEAM PRACTICES

1–3 practices per week, depending on the player’s membership and team schedule. Practices focus on fundamentals, execution, basketball IQ and game preparation.

GAMES + TOURNAMENTS

MBP teams compete in league games and tournaments throughout the season against programs across New Jersey and the surrounding region.

SEASONAL TEAMS

Games and tournaments are played at multiple gyms throughout Northern New Jersey, with locations varying by team, competition and season.

MBP offers Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter teams, giving players opportunities to compete throughout the year.
